Triton v-10 Jorge 1-29-12  
I just purchashed a 2000 fourwinds windsport i get about 7 MPG I installed a k & N filter I saw one post saying to replace oxygen sensor but just replace it with new one? or with something else i thought you only have to replace it if you get a trouble code to do so. what is the best speed to get the max mileage im thinking of going to NY from FL and dont want spend it all on gas im thinking 45 to 50 MPH if I need to go higher please let me know any help will be very apprciatede thanking all of you in advance

The engine computer is very tolerant of O2 sensors that are at the end of their lives.
There is a big long disction I won't get into why this is.
If you want to know if yours is good or bad you need a scanner that can see the "cross count" number.
If you wait for a warning light you have wasted a bunch of fuel.
50 mph is going to deliver about the best milage you can expect, but be warned the V10 gives horrible economy and very good power.
